JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars are not trading running back Maurice Jones-Drew or linebacker Paul Posluszny.
General manager Dave Caldwell, speaking Thursday for the first time since trading starting left tackle Eugene Monroe to Baltimore, says there is no firesale taking place in Jacksonville.
He says Jones-Drew and Posluszny are “not going anywhere. … They’re part of this team and we’re excited about having them a part of this team.”
Caldwell says in-season trades are difficult to pull off, which makes more unlikely. The Jaguars got a fourth- and a fifth-round pick in return for Monroe. Jacksonville now has 10 picks next year.
Caldwell says he would “like to have as many as you can get to build that because you can trade for future picks.”
